The Ashram is located 21 km south of Bangalore in rural Karnataka, southern India. Bangalore is served by all domestic Indian national airlines as well as many International Airlines operate direct service to Bangalore. India also has a well-developed railway system. Many direct express trains from other cities in India serve Bangalore. We advise first time travelers to India to choose either First Class or Second Class AC rail service. A pre-paid government operated auto rickshaw and taxi service is located just outside both the airport and railway station. Taxi fare to the Ashram from the airport will be around Rs. 1000; from the Yeshwanthpur railway station it will be around Rs. 650, and from Majestic (city) railway station aroudn Rs. 550. Instruct the driver to take you to the ‘Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’ Ashram at Udipalya. Allow at least 2.5 hours travel time to the Ashram from the airport, 1.5 hours from Yeshwanthpur railway station and 1 hour from Majestic railway station. First time travelers are advised not to hire private taxi operators without verifying a proper license.

To reach the Ashram from Bangalore, travel via Banashankari Temple on Kanakapura Road (Old Mysore Road). Continue south towards Kanakapura for about 15 kms. After the village of Udipalya you can catch a glimpse on your right of Vishalakshi Mantap about half a kilometer before the Ashram Main Gate (Gate No. 5). Enter the Main Gate and drive down to Main Reception on your left.
