Born in 1956 in Papanasam, India, His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar studied with many renowned spiritual masters and became a scholar of Vedic Literature. By the age of seventeen, he obtained an Advanced Degree in Modern Physics.

In addition to Ved Vignan Mahavidyapeeth, His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is also the founder of the Art of Living Foundation and the International Association for Human Values. Through his activities, he has inspired a global phenomenon of caring, sharing and service which has spread to over 144 countries across the globe. The programmes and service activities inspired by His Holiness have benefitted over 20 million people across the globe.

His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar travels to over 35 countries every year, to reinforce the message that all religions and the great spiritual traditions share common goals and values.
