Many of us are aware that the great sages of India were erudite Scholars in metaphysics; yet not many of us are aware that these saints were also renowned pundits in Vedic Sciences.
They designed and built aeroplanes and space-ships, utilised solar energy for various purposes, mapped the heavens and photographed the landscapes, discovered the chemistry of solids, liquids and gases and conducted intricate surgical operations and researches in human, animal and plant metabolisms.
Given in the following pages are short, incomplete interesting sketches of some of their scientific powers and pursuits. Our institution is engaged since the past FOURTEEN YEARS in exploring, identifying and co-ordinating several facts, factors and formulations of these seers and sages mostly found in the rural parts of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and other areas of our country and the kingdoms of Nepal and Bhutan.
